{"id":27681,"date":"2026-10-19T18:08:30","date_gmt":"2026-10-19T16:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fibgar.es\/fibgar-argentina-is-launching-a-training-series-on-environmental-democracy-conflicts-territory-and-gender\/"},"modified":"2026-10-19T18:13:59","modified_gmt":"2026-10-19T16:13:59","slug":"fibgar-argentina-launches-a-training-series-on-environmental-democracy-conflicts-territory-and-gender","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fibgar.es\/en\/fibgar-argentina-launches-a-training-series-on-environmental-democracy-conflicts-territory-and-gender\/","title":{"rendered":"FIBGAR Argentina launches a training series on environmental democracy, conflicts, territory and gender"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">FIBGAR Argentina is launching the training series <strong>\u201cEnvironmental Democracy, Conflicts, Territory and Gender\u201d<\/strong>, an initiative arising from strategic collaboration with the Office of the Ombudsperson of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, with the support of the Network of Women in Environmental Dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The programme aims to promote knowledge and provide tools to understand contemporary environmental challenges, identify conflicts affecting territories, and develop approaches to address them from an interdisciplinary, legal and human rights perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Two seminars addressing socio-environmental challenges<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The series will consist of two thematic sessions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>23 October | Environmental Justice<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first seminar will focus on environmental justice and the challenges involved in ensuring the effective protection of the right to a healthy environment. It will explore the links between human rights, legal and institutional tools, access to justice, and the fight against impunity for environmental crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Waste management, the elimination of open-air dumps, and the social inclusion of informal waste pickers are examples of issues that require comprehensive responses and public policies capable of bringing environmental protection and social justice together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>20 November | Territories in Conflict: Environmental Issues and Socio-Territorial Impacts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second seminar will focus on territories in conflict and the socio-territorial impacts of environmental issues. It will examine how development models and productive activities affect social and natural systems, and how their consequences are distributed unequally across territories and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Addressing these conflicts requires an understanding of their underlying causes, the identification of the responsibilities involved, and the strengthening of social and institutional mechanisms for participation, rights protection and the development of collective responses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Gender as a cross-cutting perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative incorporates a gender perspective as a central dimension of environmental analysis.
