The International Foundation Baltasar Garz\u00f3n (FIBGAR)<\/strong>, through its Alerta LATAM Observatory<\/strong>, presents Voices in Motion<\/em>, a series of webinars dedicated to analysing the main challenges facing democracy and human rights in Latin America.<\/p>\n

🚨 The series features five discussions on key issues for the region, ranging from the criminalisation of critical voices and threats to freedom of expression to memory, justice, the defence of territory, and economic, social and cultural rights. The sessions will bring together young professionals from different Latin American countries to share perspectives, experiences and reflections from a regional standpoint.<\/p>\n

🌎 First webinar: Democratic Alert<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first session, Democratic Alert \u2013 Criminalisation of Critical Voices, SLAPPs and Lawfare: What Is at Stake in Latin America Today?, will address the challenges posed by strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPPs), the criminalisation of critical voices and the use of lawfare, as well as their consequences for freedom of expression, citizen participation and civic space.<\/p>\n
