DETAILED INFORMATION
ADHEU – Refresher course on human rights in the framework of the European Union is a project co-financed by the Secretary of State for the European Union of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation.
The main objective of this project is to provide an in-depth and quality update on the main innovations adopted by the last European legislature, with a practical emphasis based on human rights, and with the help of professional specialists in each of the subjects to be covered.
In particular, it aims to address three fundamental aspects: the relationship between business and human rights (the Corporate Due Diligence Directive, the European Law on Artificial Intelligence, the Digital Services Act); the current challenges of freedom of expression and information (the anti-SLAPP Directive and the European Law on Freedom of the Media) and the progressive harmonisation of criminal law in the European Union (the Directive on Environmental Crimes, the Directive on Trafficking in Human Beings, the Directive on Gender Violence).
Through this project, we hope that practitioners will be kept up to date on current legislative issues and not only strengthen the existing inclination on these issues, but also awaken a greater interest in human rights in their legislation in the European Union.
