Scholarship Programme for Indigenous and Afro-descendant Students
Education / Human rights
FIBGAR, in collaboration with the University of Jaén, annually organizes summer courses in the town of Torres (Jaén), primarily aimed at law students, legal professionals, and individuals interested in international affairs and human rights.
Each year, the courses address different topics related to FIBGAR’s work, ranging from international crimes and transitional justice to the promotion and protection of human rights. These activities combine academic analysis with practical experiences, fostering dialogue among experts, students, and professionals in the field.
Holding these courses in Torres highlights the importance of the localization of human rights by bringing knowledge and rights-protection tools to the local level, while also encouraging critical awareness of justice, democratic memory, and the protection of fundamental rights in specific contexts.
