Cultivating Democracy: Recipes for Resilience is an initiative that aims to foster a collective process of reflection, exchange, and action to address the challenges currently confronting our democracies. In a context marked by weakened civic bonds, growing citizen disengagement, and the spread of polarizing narratives, the project seeks to sow ideas, strategies, and narratives that renew our commitment to the public sphere and to democratic values.
Through a participatory, critical, and results-oriented methodology, the process is structured around three main pillars:
The research phase will combine interviews, documental review, and case analysis, along with a curated selection of transformative experiences across different territories. Subsequently, two collective thinking sessions will be convened, bringing together voices from academic, social, institutional, and cultural fields—encouraging intersectoral approaches and inclusive, plural discussion.
The process will culminate in a proposal document that systematizes the learnings, tools, and strategic frameworks developed collectively. This document will be shared with institutions, civil society organizations, and citizen networks, with the aim of inspiring new initiatives and fostering coordinated efforts in support of a more vibrant, just, sustainable, and intergenerational democracy.
