Scholarship Programme for Indigenous and Afro-descendant Students
Education / Human rights
In 2025, the ‘Democracy Labs’ project was completed, during which innovative educational resources* were developed, including 10 teaching units on democratic memory, human rights and disinformation, accompanied by 10 teacher’s guides and 10 short videos designed to bring the content to life in the classroom.
The impact of these resources requires practical implementation through workshops that enable pupils to engage with the content, debate, reflect and develop critical thinking skills. To this end, a series of workshops were held at four different schools in the province of Valencia, where 191 pupils received training on these topics.
Owing to the success of these workshops, the second edition of the project will take place in 2026. It will consist of two rounds of workshops at six schools in the province of Valencia, aimed at broadening the impact of these educational resources whilst deepening the education of more pupils, providing tools to reflect on, debate and take action regarding European democratic memory, human rights and media literacy.
The aim is for young people to become agents of change, capable of positively influencing their surroundings and strengthening a culture of peace and justice.
