Universal Jurisdiction: the commitment for a better world

In 2021 and 2022, FIBGAR carried out the project “Universal Jurisdiction: the commitment for a better world”, co-funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, with the aim of educating and training future human rights defenders on Universal Jurisdiction and sensitizing and raising awareness in civil society about the importance of Universal Jurisdiction in the framework of a culture of peace and effective protection of human rights.

In order to fill the existing gap in terms of training, promotion and dissemination of Universal Jurisdiction aimed at the Spanish-speaking world, the first free online course on human rights and Universal Jurisdiction was designed and implemented.

The project also included a social media campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of Universal Jurisdiction, especially among young people.

The course is available here.
