In 2015, together with Blueprint for Free Speech and Riparte il futuro, FIBGAR launched the Voices of Justice coalition with the aim of pushing for the adoption of a European Directive on the protection of whistleblowers.
FIBGAR delivered almost 200,000 signatures to the elected representative of the European Parliament, Virginia Rozier, spokesperson of this institution and the person chosen to discuss the protection of whistleblowers in negotiations with the Commission and with the Council of Europe.
Directive 2019/1937 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the “Protection of whistleblowers” was adopted on October 23, 2019.
