Call for Papers
Attention! We have extended the deadline for submission of contributions. New dates:
January 7: deadline for submission of abstract and 500 words.
January 9: notification of selection of contributions.
February 7: submission of the 4000-word paper.
The Baltasar Garzón International Foundation (FIBGAR), with the aim of promoting the advancement of democracy and the protection of human rights, has organized a Call for Papers to create a space for discussion about the sustainable democracy and amplify voices of the European and Latin American civil society organizations The purpose of this project is to promote democracy and human rights, and to strengthen its role as a link between political society and civil society.
FIBGAR invites these organizations to contribute to reflect on this by submitting a 500-word abstract on any of the following topic areas by December 20, 2023:
- Justice and Rule of Law
- Human rights and environmental protection
- Freedom of expression and information
- Democratic memory and positive peace
Notification of selection of contributions will be no later than Friday, December 22, 2023.
Successful candidates must submit a 4000-word paper by January 31, 2024.
The contributions will be included in a digital publication that will include the diagnoses of each of the four areas of reflection.
In order to achieve wider dissemination and create a greater space for debate and dialogue, virtual events will be organized to present the contributions and will be open to representatives of civil society, citizens, civil servants, academia, etc. from Europe and Latin America.
